Although it was very exciting to be in London during the weeks leading up to it, we didn't want to be anywhere near the madness of coronation weekend itself. Instead, we escaped to the Peak District, a national park and historic area known for its dramatic and diverse landscapes with rolling hills, limestone dales, and heather-covered moorland, as well as a large collection of historic country estates.
